Version 5.0.8 of ProfileMaker Pro may seem like a simple dot release but there’s a lot of important work GretagMacbeth has done 'under the hood'. The color engine is significantly better, producing much smoother and cleaner saturated colors, especially with the option to build a profile using the 'Colorful' setting. The speed to generate profiles has also been significantly boasted. I’m also seeing much better tonal reproduction in dark areas from profiles I regenerate. It’s good to know that GretagMacbeth is continuing to tweak and improve their color engine rather than just placing questionable features into a new build just to up their competitive matrix.
